Period pain is caused by the walls of your uterus and vagina contracting to release the blood from your womb. It is the same process as when you give birth. (Only less horrifying and painful) Here are some tips that my friends and I have discovered over the years of vaginal bleeding.

Having a hot drink

Chocolate (releases hormones that make you happy)

Hot water bottle on the stomach region.

Heat pads (that can be bought at drug stores) on the stomach region.

Pain relief tablets for periods. These can be bought from drug stores and are usually found in the same section as the pads and tampons.

Sitting with a blanket and watching Disney movies. Particularly Tangled. (it works don’t judge me)

Orgasm. No it’s true. The hormone Oestrogen is released when you orgasm and is one of the best painkillers in the world. It will also make you happy!

Curling up in a ball and crying.
